The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, has stressed the need for continuous training of students and lecturers on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve learning and research.
She spoke during an AI workshop organised by UNILAG’s Centre for Digital Humanities in partnership with the International Association for Innovation in Educational Assessment. The programme, held on campus, focused on modern tools, technology, and collaborative strategies for education.
Ogunsola said the university is preparing for the future by equipping both staff and students with the skills to adapt to the fourth industrial revolution. According to her, AI presents opportunities to merge traditional scholarship with new technological possibilities that can transform higher education.
She praised the collaboration, noting that such engagements are vital for Nigerian universities to remain relevant globally. The Vice-Chancellor added that UNILAG will continue to strengthen partnerships that promote innovation in teaching and research.
