The University of Lagos will host its 18th Annual Research Conference in October, focusing on how artificial intelligence is reshaping work, education and well-being.
The three-day event, scheduled for 15–17 October at the Tayo Aderinokun Hall, Akoka, will bring together academics, industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the opportunities and risks of AI across sectors.
Sub-themes include AI in engineering and scientific discovery, agriculture and biotechnology, business and entrepreneurship, education, and climate adaptation. Sessions will also examine ethical and legal challenges in the humanities.
Speakers confirmed to include Ibrahim Adeyanju, Chief Executive of Galaxy Backbone, and Prof. Clement Nyirenda, Director of eResearch at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.
Organisers said the conference aims to generate fresh ideas for harnessing AI to address Nigeria’s development challenges while keeping pace with global innovation. Registration closes on September 26.
