The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, has dismissed claims that Boko Haram insurgents invaded their campus.
In a statement signed by Comrade Salami Akeem, the union president, and other top officials, the union described the information as untrue, stating that it could cause students and community residents to panic.
They added that the rumour may have been raised by someone under the influence of hard drugs, hence, causing fear.
Additionally, they noted that the Army and Police were contacted immediately when the rumour broke out to maintain security in the university environment.
The union expressed, “With great assurance, the community is free from any attack, and we urge students to remain calm and without fear but with security consciousness.”
