The Abia State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blue Giraffe Development Ltd. to construct 20 smart schools in the state.
Hon. Goodluck Ubochi, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, stated at the signing ceremony that the partnership is a significant achievement for the state as it strives to modernise its education system. The commissioner noted that the 17 local governments in the state will each have a smart school, while the three others will be situated in the state’s senatorial districts: Abia North, Central, and South. Through the smart schools, students will have access to a technology-focused learning environment, digital learning tools, interactive boards, and high-speed internet.
