The Abuja branch of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Association has announced plans to renovate student hostels on the university’s two campuses in Zaria. The chairperson of the FCT chapter, Dr Asabe Mustapha, revealed this during a recent visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed. She explained that the renovation project, called “Renovate A Room,” will be done in phases and funded by ABU alumni and friends of the university.
Dr Mustapha said her team will work closely with the university’s management to ensure the project is well-planned and completed successfully. She also congratulated Prof. Ahmed on his appointment as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of ABU and assured him of the chapter’s full support during his tenure. She was accompanied on the visit by the chapter’s Secretary-General, Hajiya Fatima Yusuf, and Financial Secretary, Comrade Isa Salihu.
In his response, Prof. Ahmed welcomed the group warmly and thanked them for returning to support their alma mater. He praised the renovation initiative, saying the comfort and welfare of students is a top priority for his administration. He promised that the university would fully support the alumni’s efforts.
The Vice-Chancellor was joined by Prof. Sani Abba Aliyu, Director of Advancement and International Education, in receiving the delegation.
