The Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT) will hold its 56th annual conference in Abuja from October 26 to 30, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, biotechnology and legal reform as key themes driving national development.
The conference, hosted by the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja, will be held under the theme “Law, National Development and Economic Sustainability in a Globalised World.”
Chairman of the conference and Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Abuja, Prof Uwakwe Abugu, said the gathering will feature five plenaries, several keynote sessions and panel discussions on issues linking law, technology and economic sustainability.
He explained that the conference aims to push for curriculum reforms, technology-driven legal education, and capacity building for law teachers to make legal scholarship more responsive to Nigeria’s developmental needs. On his part, NALT President Prof John Akintayo of the University of Ibadan, said the association is partnering with the NUC, Council of Legal Education, and NBA to improve the quality of legal training nationwide and promote innovation in emerging fields such as environmental law and digital economy regulation.
