The University of Lagos has started its week-long International Week themed Equitable Partnerships and the Future of AI in Africa, with a fireside chat.
The event, which gathers academic institutions, policy makers, and industry partners, began on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
During a fireside chat, Yvonne Ike, Managing Director and Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at Bank of America, and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave, and current General Partner at Future Africa, admonished UNILAG students to see the institution not just as a classroom but as a launchpad.
Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, UNILAG’s Vice Chancellor, while speaking at the week, noted that the future of AI cannot be built without Africa.
