Aliko Dangote University Expels 34 Students Over Examination Malpractice

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano State, has expelled 34 students for examination misconduct and rusticated 13 others for one academic session, while several students received warning letters.

The Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations, Abdullahi Datti, said the disciplinary actions followed the approval of the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee report by the university senate at its 123rd meeting on October 9, 2025. The report recommended different punishments for students found guilty of examination malpractice.

In a separate development, the university has established a Centre for Equipment Maintenance to improve the upkeep and functionality of academic and research tools across its faculties. The centre will implement preventive maintenance schedules, provide repair services for faulty equipment, and organise training for staff and students on proper use and basic maintenance.

Prof Musa Yakasai, Vice-Chancellor of ADUSTECH, has appointed Dr Murtala Dambatta from the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the pioneer Director of the centre.
