The Association of Nigerian Universities Alumni (ANUA) will hold its bi-annual conference from October 2 to 5 at Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi.
The association announced the event in a statement on Tuesday, saying it would focus on alumni-driven solutions to funding challenges in Nigerian universities.
With the theme “Bridging the Gap: Alumni-Driven Solutions for Sustainable University Funding”, the conference is expected to attract about 150 alumni presidents from across the country.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed will serve as the chief host and is scheduled to declare the meeting open. ANUA National Chairman, Yakubu Ochefu, will lead discussions on “Rethinking the Nigerian University System: The View from the Alumni.”
The programme will also feature a keynote address by Professor Saminu Ibrahim, a former vice-chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, and a session on university business ecosystems, to be facilitated by ANUA trustee Chris Uloko.
According to the association, the four-day conference will focus on financing models to address funding gaps, alongside efforts to improve academic excellence, infrastructure and graduate outcomes.
It stated that accommodation for delegates had been arranged at Jamil Guest Palace, Bauchi, with registration closing on September 30.
