The African School of Economics (ASE), Abuja, has called on Nigerians to uphold due process in governance and embrace stronger work ethics as a foundation for national growth.
Speaking at a two-day training session themed “Maximising Efficiency in the University/Workplace”, ASE Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji said the programme was designed to equip participants with the critical skills needed for efficiency and professionalism. The training covered areas such as organisational behaviour, time management, communication, workplace safety, financial literacy, conflict management and lifelong learning.
Prof. Adedimeji emphasised that the initiative is part of ASE’s effort to enhance human capacity development in Africa, noting that both university communities and the public will benefit.
The Vice-Chancellor seized the moment to warn Nigerians, particularly youths, against the lure of instant gratification, warning that true success comes from patience, consistency, and discipline. He insisted that there was a need to strengthen governance, ethics and lifelong learning because they are vital for building a more productive workforce and a stronger society.
