The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Chapter of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi State, has stated that it will resume its suspended industrial action if the university management continues to delay the implementation of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The union, through Comrade Awwal Hussain Nuhu, the chairperson, and Comrade Saleh Rimi Bagudu, the secretary, sounded the warning on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at a press conference.
According to the union, it wrote to the governing council on August 14, 21, and December 4, 2025, to draw their attention to the MoU deadlines, arrears, and entitlements.
It explained that although the university management promised to fulfil the agreement, no action has been taken, and there has been no update on the delay.
Hence, the union has initiated internal processes to embark on a strike, describing it as a last resort to ensure its demands are met.
