Bauchi University Hosts Unity Cultural Festival

The Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Professor Fatimah Tahir, has described the school as a symbol of national unity and culture. She made this known during the university’s first Cultural Festival and Exhibition (SAZUCEF 2025) held in Gadau, Bauchi State.

The event, organised by the Centre for Languages and Culture Studies, featured dances, music, food, and fashion from over 17 ethnic groups represented by students. Professor Tahir, dressed in traditional wear, danced with students and tasted various local dishes. She said events like this promote peace and help students understand and respect one another’s backgrounds.

She encouraged all cultural groups on campus to join together in a single annual festival instead of hosting separate events. Her administration has promised to support this plan. The Emir of Katagum, represented at the event, praised the university for promoting unity. The colourful festival is a reflection of SAZU’s commitment to peace, coexistence, and cultural understanding on campus.
