The Sokoto State Government is set to complete the long-abandoned multi-billion-naira Teaching Hospital in Kasarawa. The hospital project, which began during the time of former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, had been left unfinished for years due to a lack of funds and administrative delays.
Now, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, the project is back on track. The Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Mohammad Mai Shanu, described the move as a significant achievement for the state. He said the hospital will reduce the pressure on existing health centres and improve medical training at Sokoto State University. Prof. Shanu explained that the hospital was almost forgotten until Governor Aliyu made health a top priority. He said completing this project shows the governor’s strong promise to improve healthcare and education in the state.
