Buhari Improved FCT Education, Says Ex-SEB Boss

A former chairman of the Secondary Education Board (SEB) in the FCT, Dr Musa Yahaya Muhammad, has praised the late former President Muhammadu Buhari for positively impacting education in Abuja.

Speaking in Abuja, Muhammad said his appointment during Buhari’s tenure allowed him to help shape the education system in the FCT. He highlighted significant achievements, including the reintroduction of moral instruction, vocational training, and the establishment of 26 modern secondary schools across the six area councils. He added that about 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff were employed, which helped reduce teacher shortages. Buhari’s administration is also credited with introducing a standard curriculum, new policies for teacher postings, and improved staff welfare. Muhammad noted that CCTV, solar power, and ICT systems had been installed in many schools, and several classroom blocks, labs, and libraries had been completed.
