BUK Issues Guidelines for Inter-University Transfer Applications

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced that, under exceptional circumstances, students from other universities may apply for inter-university transfer to continue their degree programmes at the institution.

According to Section 2.6 of the General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR), application forms can be obtained from the Registry upon payment of a prescribed fee. Applicants must possess the minimum entry qualifications required for admission into BUK and must currently be enrolled in their existing universities.

The University emphasised that only students in good academic standing, with a minimum CGPA of 2.40 on a 5.00 scale, will be considered. Additionally, the programme sought at BUK must be similar to the one pursued at the applicant’s current university, with valid and well-documented reasons provided for the transfer request.

Transfers into the first or final year of any programme will not be accepted. Approved transfers will allow the applicant to retain earned credits and years of study. However, no transfers will be accepted into the College of Health Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences, except for specific programmes within the Faculties of Basic Medical and Allied Health Sciences.
