The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has boosted banking education with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Bankers Hall at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
The 160-seater digitalised facility, unveiled on August 28, is an endowment project aimed at equipping future banking professionals with modern skills.
CIBN President, Prof. Pius Olanrewaju, described the hall as a “game-changer,” noting that it will provide opportunities for young people, women, and underrepresented groups to access quality training in a conducive learning environment. He said the hall will serve as a hub for innovation, leadership grooming, and knowledge sharing in the financial sector.
Babcock University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, praised the banker’s institute for the effort it has made to support the university over the years, adding that the collaboration has enhanced financial literacy and professional growth on campus.
The project makes Babcock the first private university in Nigeria to fully embrace the CIBN linkage programme fully, further strengthening ties between academia and the banking industry.
