The Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has joined forces with the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to launch the Association and Chamber Excellence (ACE) Certification Programme in Nigeria.
The programme, introduced in Lagos, is designed to strengthen and enhance the capacity of business chambers and associations nationwide. Speaking at the event, CIPE’s Global Executive Director, Andrew Wilson, explained that ACE will help raise standards of governance, leadership, and operations.
He added that chambers and associations play a key role as the “voice of businesses” and as platforms that influence fair, market-driven policies. With ACE standards, business groups in Nigeria and across Sub-Saharan Africa will be better positioned to grow and remain competitive.
The project, developed in collaboration with UNILAG’s Human Resource Department and NACCIMA, is viewed as a bold step toward building stronger business institutions that can support Nigeria’s economic development.
