The College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) Alumni Class of 1998 has awarded research grants to ten medical students, restating its commitment to nurturing future healthcare professionals.
At a ceremony held on August 27, 2025, in the College’s New Board Room, each of the 500-level MBBS students received ₦100,000 to support their research projects.
Provost of CMUL, Prof Ademola Oremosu, praised the initiative, noting the alumni group’s history of contributions, including a solar power project at Tafawa Balewa Plaza and a symposium for medical students. He said the support would not only boost academic performance but also inspire beneficiaries to give back in the future.
President of the Alumni Class of 1998, Dr. Ekundayo Omogbehin, said the gesture was aimed at easing financial pressure on the students, while encouraging innovation. He also pledged continued collaboration with the college to train students in entrepreneurship.
