CNRS to Launch 7th International Research Centre

Zeblon Vilakazi, President, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa

The National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) is set to launch its seventh International Research Centre (IRC) in collaboration with the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
The partnership focuses on strengthening the centre’s relationship with top-tier universities.

Speaking about the collaboration, Zeblon Vilakazi, the university president, explained that it is essential to seize the opportunities universities offer to inspire young people to create businesses, jobs, and growth.

The president added that, through the IRC, the university reaffirms its role in driving research in Africa, emphasising that it was established to serve as a national and regional hub.

According to him, the collaboration creates additional partnership opportunities, particularly with the University of São Paulo.
