CVCNU Hails Nasarawa State University

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) has described Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), as a model for state-owned universities in the country. The commendation was given during a courtesy visit to the institution by a CVCNU delegation on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Speaking during the meeting at the University Council Chamber, Professor Andrew Haruna, Secretary-General of the Committee, praised NSUK’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation, crediting the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman. He noted that NSUK’s approach counters common perceptions of substandard performance in state-run institutions.

Professor Liman, in her remarks, welcomed the delegation and emphasised the importance of inter-institutional collaboration and alignment with the Global Education Agenda. She highlighted the university’s recent efforts to integrate innovation and digital learning into its academic model.

The visit concluded with the presentation of an award to Professor Liman by the CVCNU in recognition of her contributions to higher education. Principal officers and senior staff of the university were also present at the event.

The endorsement by the CVCNU signals growing recognition of NSUK’s reform-driven leadership and its potential to serve as a benchmark for state universities across Nigeria.
