Professor Samuel Wara, VC of Edwin Clark University (ECU)
The Vice-Chancellor of Edwin Clark University (ECU), Professor Samuel Wara, has visited the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, in Abuja to congratulate him on his recent appointment and offer ECU’s support for highereducation reforms.
Prof. Ribadu, appointed NUC Executive Secretary in December 2024, is spearheading initiatives aimed at improving global competitiveness and internationalisation of Nigerian universities.
During the meeting, ECU signalled its readiness to collaborate on strategic projects aimed at enhancing academic standards, strengthening governance, and expanding international partnerships. The University also submitted a formal letter of commitment to support the NUC’s reform agenda.
Observers say the engagement reflects a growing trend among Nigerian universities to collaborate closely with national regulators, leveraging opportunities in research, capacity building, and global partnerships.
