Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, has applauded the Kwara State University (KWASU) for establishing programmes to improve the state’s youth employment rate.
The commissioner gave the commendation at a one-day entrepreneurship workshop themed ‘Globalising Entrepreneurship Education: The KWASU Model for Transforming Arabic and Islamic Schools,’ organised for Arabic and Islamic Schools by KWASU’s Centre for Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (CTVET) in collaboration with the Centre for Islamic Contemporary Studies and Arabic Documentation.
He added that the workshop will enhance access to practical and skills-based education, thereby boosting human capital development in the state.
Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), represented by Prof. Abdulkabir Solihu, the Director of the Centre for Research and Development, stated that entrepreneurship training is essential for bridging the gap between traditional teaching and learning models in Arabic and Islamic schools.
