The Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) has inducted Professor Habibat Adubiaro, Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, as a Fellow in recognition of her contributions to chemical sciences and public service.
Professor Adubiaro, an academic turned government official, was honoured at a ceremony marking her years of research, teaching and mentorship in the field of chemistry. The Society said her induction reflected both her scholarly achievements and her ability to apply scientific knowledge to practical governance.
Before she was appointed SSG, Professor Adubiaro built a career in academia, producing research widely acknowledged in Nigeria’s chemical science community. Since moving into government, she has been credited with promoting evidence-based policymaking in Ekiti State.
The CSN described her as a rare figure bridging science and governance. Colleagues praised her as a role model for young researchers and women aspiring to leadership in both academia and public life.
Her recognition, the Society noted, underscored the growing importance of scientific expertise in tackling national development challenges.
