Mr. Moruf Akinola, the Bursar of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Association of Federal Polytechnic Bursars of Nigeria (AFPBN).

His election took place during the association’s recent general meeting, where bursars from all federal polytechnics across the country voted unanimously in his favour. The decision shows the high level of trust and respect his colleagues have for him. Mr. Akinola is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and is well known for his experience and leadership in public financial management. At Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, he has helped improve financial systems through transparency, digital processes, and smart budgeting.

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Dr Mukail Aremu Akinde, also a Fellow of ICAN, congratulated Mr Akinola and said the appointment brings pride to the institution. He described the victory as not just Mr Akinola’s achievement but also a big plus for the entire Polytechnic. “We are confident that Mr. Akinola will provide strong and positive leadership for the association,” the Rector said while praying for God’s guidance for him in the new role.

Mr. Akinola will serve as Chairman of the Bursars Association until the end of his term as Bursar of the Polytechnic in 2027. The Polytechnic’s Public Relations and Protocol Unit also sent their congratulations and wished him success in his new role.
