FG Urges ICAN to Support Tax Reform Policy

The Federal government (FG) has encouraged the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to support its tax reform policy and other initiatives to launch in 2026.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, appealed during a meeting with a delegation from the institute, led by Malam Haruna Yahaya, its 64th president.
The minister highlighted that accountants have played a significant role in boosting integrity and transparency in Nigeria’s financial system.
He added that President Tinubu’s government is committed to partnerships that improve accountability.

While addressing the council members, he highlighted, “The promotion of accurate information, public orientation, and responsible governance is central to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. We call on ICAN to support these reforms and champion them within your financial and professional spheres.”
