Foundation Raises N30 Million to Tackle Out-of-School Children Crisis

The Ibironke Adeagbo Foundation (IAF) has raised N30 million to help address Nigeria’s growing challenge of out-of-school children.

The funds were gathered at the foundation’s recent Charity Gala in London, an event aimed at tackling the issue affecting millions of children nationwide.

Founder Mrs Ibironke Adeagbo revealed that the money would support the foundation’s various programs, including the “Sponsor a Child” initiative, bursary scholarships, and the provision of school materials and uniforms.

These efforts, she explained, aim to remove financial barriers that prevent children, particularly girls, children with disabilities, and those from low-income families, from accessing education.

IAF’s core mission is to ensure all children in Nigeria receive quality education, focusing on both access and equity.

Mrs Adeagbo expressed gratitude to the foundation’s patron, Femi Falana (SAN), for his advocacy in addressing the issue of out-of-school children in Nigeria.

The Chairman of the foundation, Mr Diran Femi-Famakinwa, warned that without proper education, children are more likely to remain trapped in cycles of poverty, making it harder for the country to break free from its socio-economic challenges.

Through its initiatives, IAF remains committed to making education accessible to every child, especially those in marginalised communities.
