FULAFIA Vice-Chancellor Receives Transparency Leadership Award

Prof Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA), has received the Most Dedicated and People-Oriented Vice-Chancellor award from the Civil Society Coalition for Transparency and Good Governance (CSCTGG).

The honour, presented by CSCTGG Convener, Comrade Victor Udoh, recognised Abdul Rahman’s transparent leadership style, commitment to students’ empowerment, and contributions to institutional growth.

Speaking during the presentation in Lafia, Udoh commended the vice-chancellor’s achievements over the past four years, noting that his administration reflects accountability, innovation, and inclusive governance. He praised FULafia’s student entrepreneurship and mentorship programmes, describing them as key to developing future leaders.

In his response, Abdul Rahman attributed the recognition to the university’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, and Excellence, which he said guide his leadership decisions. He dedicated the award to the entire university community, stressing that collective effort drives FULAFIA’s success.

The vice-chancellor also urged civil society groups to strengthen their advocacy for good governance, saying national progress depends on everyone’s commitment to duty.
