Airtel Africa Foundation, through Airtel Nigeria, has launched an Undergraduate Tech Scholarship Programme to support 100 Nigerian students studying technology-related courses.
The initiative was announced by the Foundation’s Chairman, Dr Segun Ogunsanya, at a world press conference in Lagos. He said the scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and help young Nigerians excel in the fast-growing tech industry.
Each beneficiary of the scholarship is entitled to the following: full support covering tuition, accommodation, study materials, and a yearly stipend from their first year until graduation. The scholarship targets students in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and other ICT disciplines.
Dr Ogunsanya said the programme reflects Airtel’s long-term commitment to empowering African youth through education and digital skills. He added that investing in young tech talent will help build a stronger, innovation-driven future for Nigeria and the continent.
