The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has begun visiting various faculties to encourage staff and share his expectations with them. His first port of call was the Faculty of Arts, and later he visited the faculties of Agriculture, Science, Social Sciences, Environmental Design, and the College of Medicine. This move is part of efforts to promote e-learning in a bid to improve teaching and learning at the university.
The visit is part of efforts to promote e-learning across the university, aiming to improve teaching and learning methods. At each visit, he spoke with deans and lecturers about important issues like e-learning, mentorship, teaching, character building, and leadership. He also urged staff to prepare well for accreditations, expedite promotions, and keep their online staff profiles up to date. Prof. Abdul Rahman asked the faculty to work together in decision-making and listen to student feedback. He suggested establishing management committees to enhance leadership within faculties.
