FUTA Teaching Hospital Appoints First Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee

The Federal University of Technology, Akure Teaching Hospital (FUTATH) has taken a significant step to strengthen its clinical administration with the appointment of Dr Emmanuel Olaseinde Bello as the pioneer Chairman of its Medical Advisory Committee (MAC).

The announcement was made by the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Olusegun Ojo, who noted that the committee would oversee the Directorate of Clinical Services — a critical arm of the hospital and one of the three key directorates guiding Federal Teaching Hospitals nationwide.

Dr Bello, who is a Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, brings decades of experience and academic excellence to the role. His medical journey began at the College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He later undertook his Residency Training at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, also in Ile-Ife.

Prof. Ojo expressed confidence that Dr Bello’s leadership would advance FUTATH’s vision of delivering healthcare and medical training that is world-class.
