Kwara Appoints Chief Medical Director for New Teaching Hospital

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of Professor Ademola Popoola as the Chief Medical Director of the Thomas Adewumi Teaching Hospital in Omu-Aran.

The appointment follows a memorandum of understanding signed between the state government and Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, which converted the General Hospital, Omu-Aran, into the university’s teaching hospital.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina El-Imam, said Professor Popoola’s appointment was aimed at providing leadership to raise the hospital’s standards in training, research, and service delivery.

She added that the move would strengthen Thomas Adewumi University’s medical programmes and expand access to healthcare services in Kwara and neighbouring states.
