Kasali Oladepo Lawal has graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.84 out of 5.00 in Mineral Science. His performance earned him the Best Graduating Student award from the School of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
Lawal, who initially recorded modest results in his West African Senior School Certificate Examination, was admitted into FUTA through the Pre-Degree Programme after being denied admission in the 2016/2017 academic session.
During his undergraduate studies, he consistently maintained a first-class CGPA: 4.73 in Year 1, 4.79 in Year 2, 4.78 in Year 3, 4.81 in Year 4, and 4.84 in Year 5. He also achieved a perfect 5.00 GPA in his final three semesters and was listed on the Dean’s List every year.
Outside academics, Lawal represented FUTA at the 2022 Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) Quiz, where he emerged as 2nd Runner-Up. He also served as President of the National Association of Mining and Geosciences Students (NAMGS), FUTA chapter, in 2022, and as Public Relations Officer in 2020.
Lawal attributed his success to the support of his family, mentors, and friends, as well as the values he acquired during his university studies.
