FUNAAB Grieves as Director of Internal Audit Passes Away

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is in mourning over the passing of one of its esteemed Directors, Mrs. Yewande Baiyewu, who until her demise served as the Director of the Directorate of Internal Audit.

Mrs. Baiyewu passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy marked by unwavering dedication, steadfast integrity, and exceptional professionalism in her service to the University. A Chartered Accountant, seasoned Auditor and respected Administrator, Mrs. Baiyewu was appointed the Director, Directorate of Internal Audit in December 2023. She was widely admired for her commitment to excellence, discipline, and transparency, playing a pivotal role in promoting financial accountability within the University. Her passing has cast a shadow of grief over the University Community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, staff, and management, all attesting to her selfless service and upright character.

In a message of condolence, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, described her death as a painful loss to the University, noting that Mrs. Baiyewu was not only a dependable professional but also a source of moral strength to many.
