The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has introduced a new initiative to prepare students for careers in the technology sector.
The programme, called the Career Acceleration Programme (C-CAP), was launched on September 26 by the university’s College of Computing Sciences (COLCOMPS). It is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs through mentorship, training and industry-recognised certification.
Eighty-five final-year students have been enrolled in the first round of training under the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations Certification.
The initiative is being run in partnership with alumni of the College, known as the C2 Tech Mentors, who have pledged to support students through mentorship, professional certification, and access to placements in leading IT organisations.
University officials said the programme will help students develop technical and career readiness skills to compete in the global tech ecosystem.
