FUOYE rewards excellence in the international conference of Arts, Humanities faculties in Nigeria at FAHSANU 2025
The Faculty of Arts, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), hosted a high-profile FAHSANU 2025 conference to celebrate excellence and significant contributions to Arts and Humanities education across Nigerian universities.
With the theme “Arts and Humanities in a Changing World,” the event gathered top scholars who presented cutting-edge research, while the association honoured distinguished Nigerians for their impact on academia, culture, and national development.
Platinum Awards were presented to Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Princess Olabisi Adanri, Oluwo-Nla Solagbade Popoola, Araba Famuagun, and arts patron Omooba Engr. Shyllon. Gold Awards went to Sir Victor Aigbogun, Hon. Femi Omosanya, Hon. Idowu Otetubi, Mr Victory Otoba, and Hon. Babatunde Dada.
FAHSANU also conferred Fellowship/Life Membership on FUOYE’s DVC (Administration) Prof B.T. Opoola; renowned choreographer Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare; pioneer FAHSANU President Prof. Dorothy Oluwagbemi-Jacob; Dr Edward Adie; Hon. Aisha Adamu-Augie; and film scholar Prof. Hyginus Ekwuazi.
A new executive council was elected, led by Prof Bifatife Adeseye as President. Accepting the mandate, he pledged to strengthen FAHSANU’s influence across universities.
Students of Theatre and Media Arts added colour to the two-day event with a dance drama, Alajota, written by Yeside Dosumu-Lawal and choreographed by Dr Tosin Tume.
