A cross section of FUOYE fresh Life Sciences undergraduates during the orientation programme
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has welcomed its new cohort of Life Sciences undergraduates at the New Faculty of Science Auditorium, in a comprehensive orientation programme designed to prepare students for university life and future careers.
The event, attended by students, faculty, and key university officials, featured presentations from department heads and university units on academic excellence, personal conduct, safety, and campus integration. Topics included the history of the Faculty of Life Sciences, examination regulations, campus dress codes, security and safety protocols, the risks of cultism and drug use, effective use of the university library, and access to health services.
Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Basiru Ajiboye, praised the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for supporting the faculty’s growth, while emphasising the importance of balancing social life with academic pursuits and cultivating good study habits.
Interactive sessions, practical examples, and real-life illustrations were used throughout, ensuring students left well-informed and motivated. The orientation concluded with a vote of thanks from Miss Esther Alake, President of the National Association of Life Sciences Students, who commended the organisers for an insightful programme.
Fresh students are now better equipped to begin their academic journey on a strong foundation.
