The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Professor Gbenga Aribisala, has announced that staff recruitment and student admissions will commence shortly.
Speaking at a reception organised in his honour by the Ifaki Grammar School Old Students Association in Ado-Ekiti, Aribisala cautioned applicants against fraudulent agents, stressing that all processes would be transparent.
He said that 75% of academic positions in the first recruitment round would be filled by experienced scholars, with the remaining 25% reserved for competent recent graduates. Recruitment adverts are expected to appear in national media and on the university’s website, www.futes.edu.ng, next month.
FUTES will open with four faculties – Engineering, Computer Science, Natural and Applied Sciences, and Environmental Sciences. The vice-chancellor added that the institution would operate as a fully residential university, promoting discipline and character development.
“We are committed to building a problem-solving, human-centred institution. This is not about making money but about making Nigeria great,” he said.
Aribisala noted that the National Universities Commission had already conducted a resource verification exercise, with admissions for the first set of students scheduled to commence in October 2025.
