Arc. Abimbola Oke, congratulated on his induction as a Fellow of the NIA by the Federal University of Technology, Ikot
The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has congratulated its Acting Director of Physical Planning, Arc. Abimbola Oke, on his induction as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA).
Vice-Chancellor Professor Leo Daniel described the fellowship as a well-deserved recognition of Arc. Oke’s dedication to architectural practice and his contributions to the profession in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and beyond. He expressed confidence that the induction would enhance Oke’s impact on the Directorate of Physical Planning and improve service delivery across the University.
Arc. Oke, who holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture from the University of Jos, as well as an M.Sc. in Construction Management and a PhD in Architecture from the University of Uyo, has over 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry. He has also contributed extensively to architectural education, having trained students in multiple institutions.
He previously served as Secretary and later Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Akwa Ibom State Chapter. He joined FUTIA as Acting Director of Physical Planning in 2023 after a long academic career at the University of Uyo.
His induction was part of the 65th Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition of NIA held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, with Vice President Kashim Shettima as Special Guest of Honour.
