The Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has celebrated Prof. Dauda B. Ishaya, a distinguished scholar of Weed Science, for being conferred the title of Fellow of the Weed Science Society of Nigeria (WSSN).
Ishaya, who currently serves as President of WSSN, received the honour during the Society’s 51st Annual Conference held in Makurdi, Benue State. The award recognises his outstanding contributions to research, mentorship, and innovation in weed management and sustainable agriculture.
IAR described Ishaya’s recognition as a reflection of his decades-long dedication to advancing agricultural science and developing practical solutions for farmers.
The institute commended his leadership and commitment to academic excellence, noting that his fellowship reinforces IAR’s reputation for producing scholars who drive agricultural research and innovation in Nigeria and beyond.
