IBUAM to Acquire 30 Jabiru Aircraft for Training

IBUAM signs MoU to acquire 30 training aircraft from Auxano Aviation

Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management (IBUAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Auxano Aviation to purchase 30 Jabiru J430 training aircraft, boosting Nigeria’s pilot training capacity.

The agreement was signed during the Nigeria International Airshow at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with IBUAM Founder Isaac Balami, Vice-Chancellor AVM (Rtd) Prof. P.O. Jemitola, and Minister of Aviation Festus Kayamo in attendance.

Under the MoU, Auxano Aviation will deliver the aircraft in phases, 10 units per year over three years, providing registration support, spares, tools, instructor training, and technical oversight. Some aircraft will be delivered in parts for assembly, giving students hands-on experience.

Prof. Jemitola described the acquisition as a strategic investment, saying it positions IBUAM as a leading aviation training centre in Africa.
Balami added that phased delivery ensures safety, reliability, and consistent access for students, while Auxano’s technical support will maintain NCAA-compliant operations.

The first two aircraft are expected in December 2025, with 10 more in 2026, and the remainder in 2027. The partnership is one of the most significant aviation training aircraft acquisitions by a Nigerian university, reinforcing efforts to modernise pilot training and produce skilled aeronautical professionals nationwide.
