The Kano State Government has initiated a 5-day workshop to develop a Medium-Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) for the period 2026–2028, aimed at enhancing the quality of education. The event is being held in Kaduna in partnership with the group, Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE).
The Commissioner for Education, Dr Ali Haruna Makoda, who was represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Baffa Muhammed, stated that the plan will enable the government to manage and allocate funds for education projects properly. He explained that the MTSS will guide the government in addressing challenges, setting goals, and implementing important education reforms.
A ministry statement by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru noted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration is already working on many education projects that need proper planning to succeed. Kano has also allocated 31.5% of its 2025 budget to education, demonstrating its strong commitment to improving schools and education.
