Governor Babagana Zulum is changing the story of education in Borno State. In places affected by crisis, his government is rebuilding old, damaged schools and giving them new life. Thanks to these efforts, more children now have access to good classrooms, quality learning materials, and a safe environment in which to learn.
At Dala Lawanti Primary School in Maiduguri, 10-year-old Bura Ali said, “We used to sit on the floor with no roof. Now we have chairs and even a computer room.” A student at Government Day Girls Secondary School, Yabawa Mustapha, said she now learns in a bright and safe classroom.
Teachers are also seeing the difference. Mamman Abdullahi from Kulogumna Primary School said, “Teaching is now easier because we have better buildings and materials.” This is all part of the state government’s plan to rebuild lives through education after years of conflict. Slowly but surely, hope is returning to Borno.
