Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved two new appointments aimed at improving education and boosting rural development in the state.
According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Malam Adamu Yusuf Tofa has been named as the Senior Special Assistant on Tsangaya Education. Among the appointees is Tofa, who is well-known for his work in Islamic and Tsangaya education, particularly for Almajiri children. He studied Islamic Studies and has been praised for his dedication to improving Islamic learning in Kano.
Similarly, the Governor appointed Surajo Ahmad Chedi as the Senior Special Assistant for Rural and Community Development. Chedi has years of experience in local governance, having served as a Supervisory Councillor three times. He holds a degree in Public Administration and is widely respected for his work in grassroots politics and rural development.
The Governor stated that the appointments are part of his inclusive governance plan to ensure that people in underserved areas, particularly in rural communities, experience the direct impact of government programmes. “These appointments are meant to ensure that no one is left behind, especially in areas like education and rural development,” the statement said.
Governor Yusuf’s administration continues to focus on improving the lives of everyday people by selecting leaders who understand the needs of the people and are committed to working hard to meet them. Both appointments are expected to strengthen the Governor’s mission to provide better education opportunities and boost community development across Kano State.
