The Lagos State Government has announced plans to establish five additional technical colleges across its IBILE divisions.
Mr. Tolani Alli-Balogun, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, mentioned this at the 2025 Lagos Youth Skills Day: “Equipping tomorrow’s leaders with skills for a brighter future.” Alli-Balogun implored parents, caregivers, and community leaders to contribute to raising awareness on acquiring vocational skills and increasing students’ enrollment.
Giving her remarks at the event, Ms Moronke Azeez, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, advocated for a review of technical colleges’ curricula to aid skill diversity and competitiveness.
