Lawal Commissions Upgraded Political Science Library at ABU

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State commissions the upgraded Library at ABU, Zaria

Governor Dauda Lawal has commissioned the upgraded Political Science and International Studies Library at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, emphasising the role the University played in shaping his career.

Lawal, an ABU alumnus, said the institution’s conducive environment kept him and his peers engaged throughout their studies, even during breaks.

Speaking during the commissioning, he pledged continued support for ABU and encouraged other alumni to contribute to the University’s growth and to ensure the Vice-Chancellor’s success. Lawal also expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, for prioritising Zamfara State in the admission process.

Prof. Ahmed praised Governor Lawal for his consistent support of the University over the years, noting that not all alumni remain engaged. He lauded Lawal’s contributions to education, agriculture, and infrastructure and prayed for his continued success.

Ambassador Muntari Abdu Kaita, National President of the ABU International Studies Alumni Association, said the library renovation went beyond painting and installing computers, highlighting its role in promoting digital inclusion.

He stressed that the upgrade ensures that students in Zaria have the same access to information as their counterparts in global academic hubs such as London, New York, and Beijing.
