The Abuja Unity Lions Club has renovated four blocks of classrooms at Junior Secondary School, Orozo, to create a better learning environment for students.
Speaking at the commissioning on Thursday, Club President Grace Oladipo said the project was inspired by a needs assessment she carried out after her installation. She observed that the school was overcrowded, with more students than classrooms, prompting the intervention.
Oladipo explained that the initiative, tagged Empowering Education, reflects the club’s commitment to humanitarian service. She added that the club will soon return to provide chairs and furniture for the classrooms.
She further disclosed that another major project on mental health awareness, targeting school children, will be launched in October.
