Masari to Deliver Keynote at 2025 GOCOP Conference

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and immediate past Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) Annual Conference.

The event will hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, with the theme: “Reconciling Campaign Promises with Governance Realities: Challenges and Prospects.”

Masari, who currently chairs the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), confirmed his participation during a courtesy visit by a GOCOP delegation led by the Deputy President and Conference Planning Committee Chair, Danlami Nmodu.

In a statement, GOCOP’s Publicity Secretary, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, described Masari as a leader with a distinguished record in public service.

He served as Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Katsina State (1991–1993), Speaker of the House of Representatives (2003–2007), and Governor of Katsina State (2015–2023).

Over the years, Masari has been recognised with several national and international honours, including the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), the Zik Leadership Prize for Good Governance, and the U.S. Congressional Commendation Award.

The GOCOP conference, now in its ninth edition, has previously featured prominent speakers such as Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah (2019), Professor Mahmood Yakubu (2022), and Professor Uche Uwaleke (2023).

GOCOP said the annual event remains a platform for robust discourse on national development while offering opportunities for brand visibility, networking, and strengthening ethical journalism in the digital age.
