The National Association of University Students (NAUS), Ekiti State Campus Monitoring Committee (CMC), has honoured the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina, with a Meritorious Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to student development and academic excellence.
The delegation, led by Comrade Ologe John Tobiloba, visited the Vice Chancellor on Monday, October 20, 2025, to welcome him back from a six-month research leave. Ologe described Fasina as one of Nigeria’s most student-friendly Vice Chancellors, noting his commitment to capacity building through leadership retreats and practical training sessions for student leaders.
He added that FUOYE currently boasts seven of the thirteen NAUS Ekiti State executives, crediting the feat to Fasina’s supportive leadership.
Presenting the award, the student leaders commended the Vice-Chancellor’s humility, accessibility, and visionary administration, which have fostered harmony between management and students.
Responding, Fasina appreciated the recognition and pledged continued support for programmes that promote academic and leadership excellence in the institution.
