NCoS Commends Security Firm for Donating Eight Classrooms in Delta

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) has commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) for its support of inmate rehabilitation through the provision of educational and vocational facilities.

Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakugbe, gave the commendation on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State, during the commissioning of eight fully furnished classroom blocks for Open University studies inside the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Okere.

Represented by Assistant Controller General of Corrections, Kingsley Njoku, Nwakugbe described the gesture as “timely and worthy of emulation by spirited Nigerians.”

He noted that the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which emphasises reforms and empowerment.

“Our gathering here has further demonstrated the importance attached to education as a veritable tool for reformation in the Correctional Service,” he said.

Nwakugbe added that educational opportunities are now available in custodial centres nationwide through the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), covering primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
