Following the launch of the National Education Repository and Databank (NERD) programme, it has received 11,000 submissions of academic projects.
Dr Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, stated that the platform, which aims to store, save, and verify academic publications, has enrolled 40,000 students in just three weeks. He added that 135 tertiary institutions were onboarded for credential verification.
Reports showed that among the institutions on the platform, Ekiti State University (EKSU) has the highest enrollment with 990 entries, followed by Bayero University Kano (BUK) with 611, and Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, with 532.
Haula Galadima, NERD Spokesperson, said the platform will improve the quality and transparency of academic supervision.
She stated, “Supervisors now know their names accompany each project, visible globally to researchers and industry leaders.”
